 | The
Hon. Bryan Woodside, Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the constituency
of Pinewood was sworn in as Minister of State for Youth and Sports by
His Excellency the Hon. Arthur D. Hanna Governor-General on May 14,
2007, following the May 2, general election.
He was born on August 22, 1961 in Nassau to Neville and Margaret Woodside.
He attended Wentworth Primary School, Uriah
McPhee Primary School, C.H. Reeves Junior High School and R.M. Bailey
Senior High School. Upon graduating in 1977 from R.M. Bailey, he
attended the College of The Bahamas (COB) where he obtained an
Associate of Arts degree in Sociology.
He is a former columnist for the COB
publication, the Spectrum and has attended Brigham Young University
obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in
Economics.
He worked with the Ministry of Youth,
Sports and Culture and served as Executive Director of Junior
Achievement Bahamas from 1985-1990.
He was employed with Texaco Bahamas Limited
for 11 years advancing to the position of Marketing and Sales Manager
in the Marketing Department.
He leads a 17 member team at the Texaco Thompson Boulevard Star Mart and Service Station.
He holds an external L.L.B. (Hons.) Degree
from the University of London and has obtained a Certificate of Legal
Education from the Eugene Dupuch Law School. He was called to The
Bahamas Bar on October 31, 2003 and is an associate with the law firm
of Seymour and Co.
